XI'AN, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) Vice President Wang Libin mourned the passing of famous Chinese actor Lu Shuming through the social media account of the Shaanxi Basketball Association (SBA) on Tuesday.

"Mr Lu Shuming was once a basketballer and he is a respected elder brother of CBA Vice President and SBA President Wang Libin," wrote the SBA statement on Wechat.

"I will always miss you," Wang said on Chinese social network Weibo.

Lu, 66, died on Tuesday in Xi'an. He was famous for playing the part of Guan Yu, an ancient general, in the 1994 edition of Chinese TV series "Romance of the Three Kingdoms".

Lu was also the ambassador of Shaanxi Basketball league in 2019.
