CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The reporter learned from the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-rural Development that the vertical lifts of Dongshuimen Bridge were officially completed and put into use on November 1, making it easier for citizens to walk across the bridge on the river.

The vertical lifts of Dongshuimen Bridge are located in the core area of "two rivers and four banks" in Chongqing main urban districts, which were built on both sides of Dongshuimen Yangtze River Bridge, with Huguang Guild Hall in Yuzhong District in the north and Longmenhao Old Street Nan’an District in the south.

The project mainly contains the construction of vertical lifts, escalators, accessible walkways and surrounding greening on the sides of Changbin Road in Yuzhong District, and vertical lifts on Nanbin Road in Nan'an District. The service time of the vertical lifts of Dongshuimen Bridge is from 8:00 to 22:00 every day.

According to the leader concerned of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-rural Development, the project is a municipal key project, which is of great significance for the connection of walkways from Yuzhong to Nan'an District, the core area of two rivers and four banks, the connection between the Binjiang Waterfront Ecological Zone and the hinterland traditional historical and cultural landscape area, and the convenience of nearby residents' walking and public transport transfer.
