CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The new trains of Chongqing Rail Transit (CRT) Line 10 followed on the new trains of Line 9 that were lately put into use on October 26, according to Chongqing City Transportation Development and Investment Group.

27 new trains, with upgraded information display screens, anti-skid seats, and passenger counting systems, were purchased for CRT Line 10. At present, 13 new trains have been placed in the train yard, and some of them have passed a series of static and dynamic tests. The new trains will be put into operation as scheduled once they satisfy the requirements.

The new trains for CRT Line 10 are consistent with the existing trains, both of which are As-type trains that adapt to the terrain of Chongqing, with a maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour and a maximum passenger capacity of 2,300.

With a view to providing the public with better travel experiences, the company has made great effort to upgrade the software and hardware facilities of the new trains for CRT Line 10.

First of all, the size of the screens for displaying dynamic maps is increased from 35 cun to 43 cun, so that the screen can display substantial content and become more eye-catching.

Secondly, the new passenger counting system, through the sensors installed between the doors and carriages, can detect and count the number of passengers moving in and out of carriage doors, show information of the crowdedness of each carriage, and record the daily flow of passengers.

At the same time, there is a new set of double-sided display screen located at the top of the middle of each carriage. In the shape of an inverted trapezoid, the screen provides passengers with the real-time information about the train, such as the arrival time and the current time.

In addition, the air conditioning systems of the new trains have also been upgraded to offer “freezing cold” and “slightly cold” carriages. Passengers can view the information about the coldness through the LED screens at both ends of the carriage, the LED screen outside the train, or the new double-sided screen before choosing the carriage with preferred coldness level. What’s more, the shapes of the hanging rings in the new trains of CRT Line 10 are changed into triangles, and a “dimple” is set up on the existing stainless steel seat to offer passengers a comfortable riding experience.

Chongqing City Transportation Development and Investment Group will make an operation plan for the new trains according to the test results. After the trains are officially put into operation, they will further improve the transport capacity of CRT Line 10, shorten the operation interval and enhance the travel experience for citizens.
