KTVs and dance halls in downtown Chongqing closed

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The confined places of entertainment in downtown Chongqing such as KTVs and dancing halls have been closed currently in accordance with the relevant requirements of the municipal-level and district-level epidemic prevention and control headquarters, and the length of suspension will be determined according to the epidemic situation.

During the 135th press conference on the prevention and control of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Chongqing held on the evening of November 7, Qin Dingbo, deputy director and press spokesman of Chongqing Municipal Culture and Tourism Commission, released the above news.

Qin Dingbo said, in accordance with the epidemic prevention and control policy, there are mainly four management measures of cultural and entertainment venues as follows:

I. The confined places of entertainment in epidemic-stricken districts and counties should carry out relevant measures required by the municipal-level and district-level epidemic prevention and control headquarters; all confined places of entertainment in downtown Chongqing such as KTVs and dancing halls have been closed currently in accordance with the relevant requirements of the municipal-level and district-level epidemic prevention and control headquarters, and the length of suspension will be determined according to the epidemic situation; the general public is encouraged to report the confined places of entertainment (such as KTVs and dancing halls) that do not comply the relevant requirements.

II. For districts and counties where cultural and entertainment venues are normally operating, the relevant cultural and tourism authorities should strictly implement their local management measures and supervise all cultural and entertainment venues within their jurisdictions to fulfill their responsibilities of “inspecting” and comply the relevant requirements of epidemic prevention and control.

III. All personnel and visitors in cultural and entertainment venues are required to wear a mask properly, practice social distancing, have their temperatures checked, scan the codes of specific public places, and present their health codes and itinerary codes. Those with a red code, yellow code, or a pop-up window on their Yukang codes are prohibited to enter the venue. All personnel working in the cultural and entertainment venues should complete regular nucleic acid testing according to the relevant requirement, and those who fail to fulfill the requirement, have an abnormal body temperature, cough or have a fever shall not go to work.

IV. The municipal and district-level comprehensive administrative law enforcement authorities of cultural market should strengthen the inspection on implement of epidemic prevention and control measures in various cultural and entertainment places, and urge the places in question to rectify in a timely manner.
