CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- After a 25-hour long journey of more than 1,500 kilometers, five trucks with “Lu Q” or “Lu D” license plates, has successfully transported 50 tons of cabbages to five neighborhoods in Chongqing one after another from the early morning to 10:00 a.m. on November 26. Those cabbages donated by the Shandong Chamber of Commerce in Chongqing to the Chongqing Charity Federation were all delivered to the residents.

"Counterpart support and cooperation has been carried out between Chongqing and Shandong, and this donation represents the care and love of love for Chongqing from Shandong enterprises. Both Shandong people and Shandong enterprises in Chongqing want to help with Chongqing's victory over the epidemic." In order to help Chongqing win the battle against the epidemic, the general Party branch of the chamber of commerce called on 13 member institutes to raise 300,000 yuan on November 23; the money was used to purchase 50 tons of cabbages from a vegetable planting base in Heze, Shandong Province, which were successively transported to Chongqing from the evening of November 24, according to Zhang Xianzhong, deputy secretary-general of Shandong Chamber of Commerce in Chongqing.

Following the donors’ inclinations, Chongqing Charity Federation urgently investigated the demands for vegetables in downtown Chongqing and finally determined to send 10 tons of cabbages to the five sub-districts respectively: Shimahe Sub-district in Jiangbei District, Jinshan Sub-district and Tiangongdian Sub-district in Liangjiang New Area, and Lianfang Sub-district in Shapingba District.

The Shandong driver, Han Qingshan, set out for Jinshan Sub-district in Liangjiang New Area in the early morning of November 25 after loading the truck with cabbages. He said, “it took me 25 hours to travel 1,500km, and I stopped halfway to take a short rest in the service area. Though cabbages are cheap and ordinary, they can be stored for a long time easily. I’m doing my part to help Chongqing.”
