CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On the first anniversary of the opening of the China-Laos railway, the first cold-chain China-Laos railway train for fruits, a part of the new international land-sea trade corridor, departed from Vientiane South Station, entered China through Mohan Port, and successfully arrived at Chongqing International Logistics Hub Park on the morning of December 2. The special train carried 25 refrigerated containers of Thai longan and Laos bananas worth more than 5.5 million yuan. Those fruits will be further distributed to different regions.
Two days ago, the designated supervision site for imported fruits at Mohan Port of China-Laos railway successfully passed the inspection and acceptance of the General Administration of Customs.

This means that in the future, Laos, Thailand, and other ASEAN countries can export their fruits to China through the China-Laos railway instead of transferring fruits by truck. The logistics costs will be reduced and transportation efficiency will be greatly improved.
The opening of Mohan Port of the international land-sea trade corridor in China helps open up a new route for the cold-chain transportation of fruits from Thailand to Laos to Chongqing. It will promote the operation of China-Laos railway trains to enter a new stage, and strengthen its role in pushing forward the integrated development of interregional logistics, industries, and trade.
According to New Land-sea Corridor Operation Co., Ltd., the second cold-chain China-Laos railway train for fruits (Lao’s Vientiane – Hunan’s Huaihua) has finished order picking and is scheduled to depart on December 6 for Huaihua International Land Port in Hunan.
Boxes of fruits were transported to the country through the China-Laos railway and then distributed to different provinces covered by the new international land-sea trade corridor. During the transportation, they witnessed the accelerated construction of the new international land-sea trade corridor and the enhanced interaction and cooperation between different regions along the trade corridor.
