CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On January 30, Chongqing signed a number of cooperation agreements with HUAWEI company, covering automobile, artificial intelligence, smart city and other aspects.

In recent years, HUAWEI has been committed to Chongqing’s market and made brilliant achievements in many fields, contributing to the economic development and industrial upgrading of Chongqing.

Helping SERES enter the "first echelon" of new energy vehicle industry

Which brand of new energy vehicle was the most concerned in 2022? Perhaps no one knows for sure, but SERES’s "AITO" series must be one of the alternative answers.

The cooperation with HUAWEI has led to great development for SERES. In April 2021, at the Shanghai Auto Show, SERES and HUAWEI announced that they had reached an in-depth cooperation in jointly building a new intelligent networked new energy vehicle brand. The latter will apply the latest intelligent interconnected system to new vehicles, which will also be sold in HUAWEI's national flagship stores.

This news caused a stir in the industry, because it addressed two major issues in the development of SERES’s vehicles: vehicle-machine interaction and marketing channels.

Industry insiders said that if "Weixiaoli", who entered the auto industry from the Internet, was regarded as the representative of the first batch of new forces in vehicle manufacturing, then SERES, which has cooperated with HUAWEI, would be the representative of the second batch of "new forces" in vehicle manufacturing. Moreover, with the strong performance of "AITO" series in the market, SERES has entered the "new forces" echelon of the first-line new energy vehicle manufacturing.

There are other auto companies Chongqing cooperating with HUAWEI. In August 2022, AVATR 11, the first model jointly manufactured by Changan, HUAWEI and CATL and launched by AVATR Technology, was officially put on market. It was also developed from the intelligent electric vehicle technology platform jointly built by three companies above.

At present, there are more than 1,000 employees from the intelligent driving R&D team of HUAWEI working in Chongqing. Cooperated with AVATR Technology, a subsidiary of Changan, the team plans to launch 4 new models by 2025.

"Kunpeng" making big data more intelligent

Since 2020, teams from national and even global universities and enterprises gather in the Western China (Chongqing) Science City every September to participate in the Kunpeng Application Innovation Competition.

As one of the activities held in the Smart China Expo, the competition was hosted by Kunpeng Computing Industrial Ecological Chongqing Center (hereinafter referred to as "Kunpeng Chongqing Center"), which was announced to be founded by Chongqing and HUAWEI during the Smart China Expo 2019, intended to cultivate and develop a number of upstream and downstream enterprises of Kunpeng computing industry with Kunpeng processor as the core, combining with Chongqing's local superior resources, so as to build Chongqing into a highland of China's computing industry. The innovation competition mentioned above is one of the important activities conducted by the ecological center in talent cultivation.

Since its establishment three years ago, Kunpeng Chongqing Center has boosted the intelligent development of Chongqing’s big data with its own technical strength. At the same time, it has also communicated with more than 30 universities and vocational colleges in Chongqing, and carried out more than 60 activities in total, with more than 15,000 universities and social developers involved.

These achievements not only make Chongqing's big data more intelligent, but also enable Chongqing's key industries to accelerate their transformation and upgrading.

For example, in the course of promoting the digital transformation, auto and motorcycle parts enterprises in Chongqing may encounter problems such as incomplete information systems, poor universality and configurability, poor real-time performance, less intelligent, and high costs in customized operation and maintenance.

Cooperation reached covering more fields

The cooperation between Chongqing and HUAWEI is not limited to the fields such as automobile and big data intelligence, but has the potential of covering more fields widely distributed.

The list of layout in Chongqing by HUAWEI shows that in traditional industries, some terminals (laptops, tablets, PCs) are delivered by HUAWEI in Chongqing and produced by local key manufacturers. At the same time, in order to help improve the local industrial and supply chains, HUAWEI has included more than 20 suppliers in Chongqing in the list of smart terminal procurement.

In the field of new infrastructure, HUAWEI has not only deeply participated in the construction of Chongqing's 5G network, but also actively promoted the construction of Chongqing's digital government. At present, it has built regional cloud platforms such as Fuling City Cloud and Yunyang City Cloud, and co-built with local governments 4 industrial innovation centers, namely, Yubei Software Development Cloud, Liangjiang Artificial Intelligence, Nan’an Internet of Things and Kunpeng in Xiyong, Hi-tech Zone.

In the field of artificial intelligence, HUAWEI and Chongqing have jointly built the Chongqing Artificial Intelligence Innovation Center in the High-tech Industry Development Zone. The first phase of the project covers an area of about 10mu, with a total investment of about 1.18 billion yuan and hash rate of 400P, which will become the largest AI public computing power platform in southwest China. At present, it has attracted 29 computing power users, including CISDI, Changan, TERMINUS, Chongqing University and Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications.

In the field of cloud computing, HUAWEI has provided digital transformation services for more than 3,000 enterprises in Chongqing, and helped over 800 enterprises complete software development on the cloud, comprehensively boosting the development of Chongqing's digital economy.
