CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Traffic is the key for two-city economic circle interconnection between Chengdu and Chongqing. On January 28, the promotion conference for the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing two-city economic circle in Chongqing was held.

As one of the exchange and speech units at the conference, Chongqing Transport Bureau said that it would comprehensively deepen the cooperation and co-construction of Sichuan-Chongqing transportation, accelerate the construction of a strong city with high-level transportation, and strive to promote the construction of the two-city economic circle of Chengdu-Chongqing into an international comprehensive transportation hub cluster.

Over the past three years, Chongqing Transport Bureau has taken the promotion of the traffic construction of Chengdu-Chongqing two-city economic circle as the "No. 1 Project", created the traffic working groups of Sichuan and Chongqing, established the regular communication and consultation mechanism, held nearly 20 joint meetings and coordination meetings, jointly built new western land-sea corridor and the China Railway Express (Chengdu-Chongqing) and promoted the golden waterway of the Yangtze River, and pool capital to build the second phase of Xintian Port in Wanzhou and accelerate the construction.

Chongqing Transport Bureau said that it will accelerate the formation of four "one-hour traffic circles" in the two-city economic circle of Chengdu-Chongqing to promote the formation of an international integrated transport hub cluster. By 2027, the energy level of Chongqing's international comprehensive transportation hub will be greatly increased. The modern infrastructure network of Chengdu-Chongqing two-city economic circle will be basically formed, and the strategic hub of the coordinated development of “the Belt and Road”, the Yangtze River Economic Belt and new western land-sea corridor will be basically formed.

In 2023, the city plans to invest RMB 110 billion in transport to achieve double-digit growth. In the first quarter, it is planned to invest about RMB 24.21 billion, with a year-on-year growth of 10.4%, realizing “a good start”.

Railway, speed up the construction of 917 km of 6 high-speed railways, including Chengdu-Chongqing Middle-Line High-speed Railway and Chongqing-Xi'an High-speed Railway. Within this year, the construction of 159km of Chongqing-Yichang High-speed Railway will be started, and the reconstruction of Chengdu-Chongqing Railway from Chongqing Railway Station to Jiangjin Railway Station will be vigorously implemented. Actively cooperate with and promote the preliminary work of Qianjiang-Jishou high-speed railway and other projects, and strive to include Chongqing-Guiyang high-speed railway, Lanzhou-Chongqing high-speed railway and other projects into the National Medium and Long-term Railway Planning.

Highway, accelerate the construction of 25 projects of 1391 kilometers under construction, including Chongqing-Hunan Double-Line and Wanzhou-Dazhou. Start 2 projects including the expansion of Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway, reconstruction and expansion of Tongliang-Tongnan Section of Chongqing-Suining Expressway for 160km, and complete 3 projects including Jiangjin-Luzhou North Line, Tongliang-Anyue Section and Wuxi-Zhenping for 169km. Comprehensively start the preliminary work of expressway project in the “14th Five-Year” Plan. Speed up the planning and construction of non-toll roads and logistics channels in the metropolitan areas of the main city, rebuild 600 kilometers of ordinary trunk roads, complete 300 kilometers and rebuild 3,000 kilometers of new rural roads.

Water transportation, accelerate the construction of Jialing River Lize Navigation Hub, and the second phase of Wanzhou Xintian Port, and start the first phase of Luoqi Project in Yubei and the Regulation Project of Baima-Pengshui Channel of Wujiang River were commenced, and complete the channel regulation project of Qujiang River and Guoyuan Bulk Cargo Terminal. Actively strive for the country to start the preliminary work of the Three Gorges New Channel as soon as possible, cooperate to strive for the country to restart the preliminary work of Xiaonanhai cascade, and accelerate the research on Jingkou ecological shipping hub of Jialing River.

Civil aviation, speed up the preliminary work of Chongqing new airport, strive to start the construction of comprehensive transportation hub project in the first half of the year. Basically complete the main structure works of T3B terminal and the fourth runway of Jiangbei International Airport, complete the T2 terminal of Wanzhou Airport. Further study the layout of Fuling, Wansheng and other regional airports, and accelerate the preliminary work of general airports such as Shizhu county and Zhongxian county.
