59 km of rail transit to be completed and opened to traffic this year

According to the plan, 59 km of rail transit will be completed and opened to traffic this year. The new 6 rail transit lines under construction include 2 urban tracks, namely Line 7 Phase I and Line 17 Phase I, with a total mileage of 38 km, and 4 urban (suburban) railways, namely Yongchuan Line, Nanchuan Line, Dazu Line and Qijiang Line, with a total mileage of 278 km.

Our city will continue to promote the construction of “metropolitan area on track” and accelerate the construction of “one-day life circle”. In this year, Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group will comprehensively promote the comprehensive development of rail transit TOD, including speeding up the construction of Sigongli parking lot project demonstration zone, striving to start the construction of Haixia Road and Weidianyuan projects within this year, and completing the Shuangyan project by the end of the year.

Promote the proportion of rail connection lines to account for more than 80%

In order to make citizens travel more convenient and commuting time shorter, our city will open 4 entrances and exits of Fuhualu, Baoshenghu and other stations of rail transit in this year, orderly implement the reconstruction of pedestrian passage at No. 3 entrance of Zengjiayan Station, and strive to meet the transfer conditions within the station for rail transit Xiejiawan Station this year.

Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group will gradually densify the cross-line operation trains of rail interconnection and express trains at large stations, and fully open the railway station channels with night crossing conditions; increase the coverage of public rail connection, strengthen the horizontal connection of community buses and lane buses, and promote the proportion of rail connection lines to account for more than 80%.

In terms of ground bus travel, the co-urbanization development of public transport will be strengthened this year. At least 40 bus lines will be accurately optimized in the central urban area, focusing on the optimization of morning and evening peak and river-crossing channel transportation organization, which will effectively alleviate urban traffic congestion.

Two expressways to be completed and opened to traffic within the year

The relevant responsible person of the Chongqing Transport Bureau said that this year, the city will actively promote the highway interconnection in the adjacent areas of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle based on the “intensification and widening” highway network.

According to the plan, our city will start the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway Expansion Project, Reconstruction and Expansion Project of Chongqing-Suining Expressway Tongliang-Tongnan Section this year, with a total length of 160 km. The two projects will become the first batch of "two-line eight-lane" expressways jointly constructed by Sichuan and Chongqing.

In this year, the interconnection construction of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle will also usher in a harvest season. Chongqing section of Jiangjin-Luzhoubei Line Expressway and Chongqing Section of Tongliang-Anyue Expressway will be completed and opened to traffic. At that time, the drive from Tongliang to Anyue will be shortened from the current 1.5 hours to 40 minutes, forming a new channel connecting the two national-level new areas, Liangjiang New Area and Tianfu New Area; the drive from Jiangjin to Luzhou will be shortened from the current 1.5 hours to 50 minutes. In this year, our city will speed up the construction of key projects of water, land and air transportation. Among them, in the aspect of building international aviation gateway hub, our city will do a good job in the preliminary work of Chongqing new airport this year, start the construction of comprehensive transportation hub, basically complete the T3B terminal of Jiangbei International Airport and the main structure project of the fourth runway, build the T2 terminal of Wanzhou Airport, deepen the study on the layout of regional airports such as Wansheng and accelerate the preliminary work of general airports in Xiushan and Kaizhou.
