CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- There is a “tunnel of light and shadow” in Chongqing Datianwan Stadium, where the two-color pavement overlaps with the gorgeous light and shadow. When walking in the tunnel, you will feel like traveling through a time tunnel.

Located right below the rostrum of the Datianwan Stadium, the 179-meter-long “tunnel of light and shadow” is connected with the pedestrian walkway outside the grandstand, forming a pedestrian loop with a length of about 800 meters.

The tunnel, which serves as a track and a fire passage, is newly built during the construction of the Datianwan Stadium Protection and Utilization EPC Project, said He Xing, the engineer of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Co., Ltd. (the contractor of the Datianwan Stadium project)

In addition to the conventional lighting of fluorescent lamps, the top of the tunnel is equipped with LED pixel strips and 52 groups of projection lamps are installed on both sides of the strips for a dreamlike lighting effect.

It is worth mentioning that 52 groups of projection lamps will also project various sports patterns such as runners and players, as well as the subtitles of Chongqing dialect on the tunnel walls, which are very interesting and distinctive.
