CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On March 8, the 2023 Joint Meeting of the Coordinated Development of Sichuan-Chongqing Trade Promotion Systems was held in Minjiang Donghu Hotel, Meishan City, Sichuan Province. At the meeting, it arranged and deployed the key tasks of Sichuan-Chongqing trade promotion systems in coordinated development in 2023, involving 17 items, such as the construction of the Kenya Sichuan-Chongqing commodity exhibition and sales center, Sichuan-Chongqing general affairs, multilateral and bilateral industrial and commercial liaison mechanisms, economic and trade activities, etc., and 6 cooperation agreements were executed.

In 2022, the total foreign trade import and export volume in Sichuan broke the trillion mark for the first time, up 6.1% from last year, and 23.03 billion yuan of foreign capital was used, up 5.2% from last year. The total volume of foreign trade in Chongqing reached 815.84 billion yuan, up 2% from last year. The quality of foreign trade was improved while the actual use of foreign capital remained stable, and 268 new foreign-invested enterprises were founded.

“The total import and export volume in Sichuan and Chongqing accounts for 47.2% of the western area. The use of foreign capital accounts for 45.3% of the western area. We will further give full play to the advantages of trade promotion functions and work hard to consolidate and expand the good situation of coordinated development in key fields such as mechanism construction, industrial development, opening up, and public services”, according to the relevant person in charge of CCPIT.

It is known that Sichuan and Chongqing will use platforms such as the New Western Land-sea Corridor, the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity, CCEC, China (Sichuan)-ASEAN Free Trade Area, Kenya Sichuan-Chongqing Commodity Exhibition and Sales Center, the “Belt and Road” pavilions cluster, etc. this year to jointly promote the establishment of an Overseas Commodity Logistics Allocating Center, the “Belt and Road” Import and Export Commodity Distribution Center so as to promote the construction of international consuming center cities.
