CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- According to Chongqing International Logistics Hub Park, the number of imported vehicles at Chongqing’s vehicle import port has exceeded 30,000 since the approval.

As the first entry port for imported vehicles in West China, Chongqing’s vehicle import port was approved in 2014 and it’s now responsible for importing vehicles of 17 brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Porsche, Land Rover, Lincoln, and Ford. It comes top of the list in China for the number and category of imported vehicles of new vehicle import ports.

According to the International Trade Promotion Office of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, the entry port has cooperated with local transportation enterprises such as China Railway Express (Yuxinou) for the past recent years, contributing to a fast-growing trend of the vehicle import business.

Chongqing’s vehicle import business is also strongly supported by Chongqing Customs. For example, Chongqing Customs has optimized the inspection process for imported vehicles and integrated regulatory systems for vehicle import to allow for the storage of bonded and non-bonded vehicles in the same warehouse and minimize the risk of damage due to the transfer of vehicles.

The head of the International Trade Promotion Office added that, based on the vehicle import port, Chongqing would make continuous efforts to build a whole industrial chain that covers vehicle import and export trade, vehicle experience center, auto trade city, and auto finance, and offers one-stop integrated services including customs clearance, sales, licensing, insurance, and after-sales maintenance.
