CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- According to Liangjiang New Area, the designated supervision site for imported grain at the Guoyuan Port has been checked and accepted by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, making Guoyuan Port Chongqing’s first qualified entry port for food imports. It will further drive the development of its surrounding countryside and promote the high-quality development of Chongqing’ export-oriented economy.

Located at the customs supervision area of Guoyuan Port, the designated supervision site for imported grain covers the docking and unloading area, the inspection area for imported grain, special warehouses for imported grain, and the quarantine area. With five fully enclosed and liftable inspection platforms and special warehouses of 2,385 square meters, the supervision site has an annual handling capacity of 100,000 tons.

Since its operation, the designated supervision site for imported grain at Guoyuan Port will rely on the multi-level transportation system of Chongqing and give full play to its unique strengths in the rail and water transport of the multimodal transport system to facilitate the customs clearance and inspection of imported grain products in Chongqing, reduce the cost of warehousing and logistics and other trade costs.

At the same time, the official acceptance of the designated supervision site at Guoyuan Port by the General Administration of Customs also satisfies the urgent demand for imported grain from the grain and oil processing industry and the breeding industry in Chongqing and its surrounding areas.

Chongqing Customs will strengthen the quarantine supervision of imported grain and constantly optimize the regulatory process of imported food to ensure safe, efficient, and convenient customs clearance of grain imports and contribute to the high-level opening and high-quality development of Chongqing ports.

It is worth mentioning that, several designated supervision sites for meat imports and grain imports of Chongqing Lianglu Guoyuan Port Comprehensive Free Trade Zone (Guoyuan Port area) have been checked and accepted over recent years. Based on the increasingly well-developed multimodal transport system and more complete infrastructure, Guoyuan Port is emerging as an important window for West China to connect to the world.
