Chongqing Natural Resources Science Museum has been officially opened on March 13. During the media inquiry activities before the opening of the museum, interesting interactive knowledge one after another immediately attracted everyone.

“In the Triassic period 250 million years ago, Chongqing was the vast ocean. In the following 250 million years, Chongqing experienced the evolution process from the Yangtze Sea to the Bashu Lake and then to the land." In the geological evolution exhibition hall of Chongqing Natural Resources Science Museum, Tang Yongyang, the leader of science popularization education group of Chongqing Natural Resources Science Museum, described the geological changes of 800 million years in front of the 15m-long “Chongqing Ten Thousand Volumes of Books” composed of 360 rocks.

"Before ‘Chongqing Ten Thousand Volumes of Books’, every step was equivalent to 'crossing' 25 million years," Tang Yongyang said.

Before a nest of dinosaur egg fossils in the museum, Tang Yongyang told the reporter the story of "the most aggrieved dinosaur father".

When this nest of dinosaur eggs was found, a dinosaur was next to eggs in the nest. The discoverer thought the dinosaur may be preparing to steal eggs, so it was named the “egg-stealing dinosaur”.

"It's not an egg-stealing dinosaur, but a warm-hearted father." Tang Yongyang told that after being "misunderstood", some experts defense for the dinosaur through research, this is a theropod dinosaur, "egg-stealing" is actually hatching eggs, and protecting eggs.

As for the question of whether there was a chicken or an egg, Tang Yongyang also explained, “the Earth billions of years ago has already given the answer." According to Tang Yongyang, life originated from the sea, and amnion eggs appeared in the process of land development, which is also known as "egg", so there are eggs first on the earth.

In the Museum, the interactive device can also rotate Chongqing territory by 135 degrees counterclockwise to get a word of “mountain” to experience the beauty of “natural mountain city”; in the immersive ball screen cinema, through the 360-degree ball screen enclosure simulation environment, you can have an ultimate 3D audio-visual experience of 10,000 meters underground in Chongqing.

Chongqing Natural Resources Science Museum and Chongqing Planning Exhibition Hall are both under the jurisdiction of Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Planning and Natural Resources. The Science Museum is managed by the Planning Hall, and the two halls will form a linkage to interpret the past, present and future of Chongqing in multiple dimensions.
