CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The 2023 Chongqing Marathon will kick off on March 19 at Haitang Yanyu Park in Nan’an District. Based on this opportunity, Nan’an District will launch the 2023 Chongqing Marathon International Consumer Festival on March 17, which will offer a series of special activities like the Chongqing Marathon, China Chengdu-Chongqing International Sports Expo, Chongqing Marathon Hot Pot Festival, and the forum for Chongqing Marathon elite runners.

Nan’an District will take the opening of the marathon as a business opportunity and integrate all kinds of business, tourism, culture, and sports resources across the district to launch a region-wide and industry-wide "Chongqing Marathon International Consumer Festival" with high quality and high standards and extend the Chongqing Marathon from a half-day event to a consumption season festival lasting half a month.

The 2023 Chengdu-Chongqing Sports Industry Alliance Expo and the 5th Chongqing Sports Industry Expo, and some forum activities like “Roundtable Meeting of China Road Running Industry Development", "Public Welfare and Health Roundtable Meeting of China Marathon Grand Slam", and " Award Ceremony of China Marathon Grand Slam". A marathon economy summit forum with the theme of “Sports drives the economic development, health leads us to a bright future” will be co-organized by Nan’an District and Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business on March 18 to explore the new way of developing “sports and tourism”.

For the Chongqing Marathon Hot Pot Festival, 120 tables will be offered in Xianlongjing Hot Pot to serve the participant delegations during the period between March 17 and March 19. Besides, over 100 hot pot restaurants will offer special offers to the marathon participants until the end of the month.

Nan’an District will also cooperate with major commercial complexes, restaurants, hotels, and cultural and entertainment venues from March 15 to March 31 to attract consumers. Nanshan Botanical Garden, Wenquan Tangdu (the city of hot springs), Changjiahui Ocean Park, Madame Tussaud's, and other tourist attractions will also provide marathon participants with special offers. What’s more, there will be the 2023 Guangyang Island Kite Festival, a selection contest of musicians, the Nanshan Camping and Music Festival, and other special events.

From mid-March to the end of March, it will integrate the resources of tourist attractions such as Nanshan Botanical Garden, Hot Spring Tangdu, Changjiahui, and Madame Tussauds to customize many preferential policies for the participating runners, and at the same time, it will also hold a series of special festival activities such as City Musician Selection Contest and Nanshan Camping Music Festival.

It’s learned that the plans for the race organization, medical security, security emergency response, and preparation and distribution of materials for the 2023 Chongqing Marathon have been made, and all preparatory work is progressing in an orderly manner.
