CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Smart parking complexes are coming! With one click on the app for car parking, the robot will help you park the car that stops at the entrance of the parking lot or deliver your car right to you from the parking, taking less than 1 minute on average. You can also shop and dine in the smart parking complexes. How exciting! Recently, the ceremony of capping the roof of the first batch of China Communications Construction (CCCC) smart parking complex projects and starting the second batch of projects was held in Liangjiang New Area. The first two smart parking complexes will be operative at the end of this year, and the number of smart parking complexes in downtown Chongqing will reach nine by the end of next year.

The Lijia parking complex and the Qibo parking complex, the roofs of which have been capped,  were located on Longfor Lijia Paradise Walk, and Qibo Liuyun Road respectively. With a floor surface of 32,000 square meters and a building area of 82,300 square meters, the two smart parking complexes offer nearly 2,000 parking spaces (the Qibo parking complex offers more than 1,000 parking spaces) and will be operative at the end of this year.

“Compared to the traditional parking lot with the same floor area, the smart parking complex offers 40% more parking spaces,” said Feng Zuguo, the head of the Lijia and Qibo parking complex projects of CCCC Investment Company. Each smart parking complex will be supported by fully automated logistics and warehousing technology, fully automatic parking systems, and the integration of PPY, AGV, intelligent manufacturing, intelligent maintenance, big data, and other technologies. Those advanced technologies enable the visible operation and real-time monitoring of the smart parking complexes.

The second batch of projects includes seven smart parking complexes: the Jinhai Jiuqu service center (ground parking lot), the Maanshi complex, the Jiaguo service center (ground parking lot), the Jiahe complex, the Zhuyong complex, the Jiuqu River complex, and the Guangtong integral complex, which cover a total floor area of 30,900 square meters and offer 1,652 parking spaces with the use of PPY technology and automatic parking systems.

“Those parking complexes will significantly ease the difficulty of parking,” said Huang Chao, the director of the urban construction office, Construction Administration Bureau, Liangjiang New Area Administrative Committee.

Different from traditional parking lots, the smart parking complexes will develop a variety of consumer businesses like auto consumption, commercial services, sports, entertainment, and other public services, with a view to building a smart parking ecosystem 4.0 featuring diversity and high quality. In other words, in addition to car parking, residents can also a wide range of services, such as shopping, dining, and automatic charging and payment, in the smart parking complexes.
