“Behind the College is the sea of tea and bamboo, so we put the second class here,” Yuan Xiaoqin, Counselor of Chongqing Metropolitan College of Science and Technology, told reporters.

More than 70 teachers and students from the School of Construction Management and the School of Economic Management of the college have a more comprehensive understanding of the origin, cultivation, trade, tea art and other tea culture of tea by personally participating in a series of practical activities such as tea picking, “Taste” tea and identify tea with smell, and stir-frying tea.

Not only that, the students also went deep into the bamboo forest under the guidance of the announcer, observed the shape and characteristics of bamboo, learned to recognize bamboo, understood the growth of bamboo, and tried to use the weaving techniques such as warp and weft knitting, fine bamboo sewing, etc. to produce creative bamboo weaving works. Lan Siyi, a 2022 human resources management student at Chongqing Metropolitan College of Science and Technology, said that such a second class was very interesting. “Bamboo weaving is not only the embodiment of art, but also the inheritance of culture. We should keep our ingenuity and cultural self-confidence, and inherit the beauty of art that bears the memory of generations,” Lan Siyi said.

Yuan Xiaoqin said that “Walking Classroom” is a characteristic research activity carried out by the college, and also an outdoor learning class based on the second classroom. “The ‘Walking Classroom’, as the name implies, is walking on the road, and harvest and growth are also on the road, so that students can improve their comprehensive quality in personal practice, and cultivate students’ spirit of unity and cooperation, exploration and research.”
