CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing has been striving to push forward the construction of rail lines and highways to make a good start for the year, and significant progress have been made in the construction of several rail transit lines and highways.

Phase II of CRT Line 15

The second piece of tunnel boring machine (TBM) was used

As the second large combined-type TBM, “Invincible Army No.3” started to work at the section between Lixuelu Station and Jiuquhe East Station of Phase II of CRT Line 15 on March 19, the construction of this section entered a new stage.

To ensure the successful and safe operation of TBM, the project department had made special plans for the lifting and hoisting of large equipment, the operation of combined-type TBMs, and other dangerous projects. A group of experts was invited to review and improve the construction plans.

The project of Phase II of CRT Line 15, starting at Zengjia Station and ending at Jiuquhe East Station of Phase I of CRT Line 15, covers a total length of 32.8 km and includes 11 stations, with a maximum running speed of 140 km/h.

CRT Line 18

The first electric train made its first appearance

The first electric train made its first appearance of CRT Line 18 made its first appearance on March 17, which means we are closer to the opening of CRT Line 18.

Featuring a greenish-blue color, this train is 117.8 meters long and 3 meters wide, with a maximum running speed of 100 km/h and a greatest transport capacity of 2,322 passengers. It’s the first time that the train has adopted a permanent magnet motor traction system for the first time, which can reduce the total energy consumption by 30% compared with the traditional asynchronous motor traction system under the same condition.

Effective measures are taken to push forward the construction of CRT Line 18. Xietaizi Station has been roofed and will soon enter the decoration and finishing stage.

CRT Line 18, covering Fuhualu Station to Tiaodengnan Station, is a north-south significate line in the rail transit system, with a total length of about 29 kilometers. It will connect the Dayangshi, Lijiatuo, and Dadukou residential areas upon its completion.

Chongqing section of the Wuxi-Zhenping highway

Start the road construction

The Chongqing section of the Wuxi-Zhenping highway started the construction of roads on March 15. The project covers from Chongqing’s Wuxi (connects the Fengjie-Wuxi Highway) to Shaanxi’s Zhenping (connects the Pingzhen Highway), with a total length of 48.8 kilometers (45.3 km in Chongqing, 3.5 km in Shaanxi). The highway includes three interchanges and a service center.

At present, high-speed civil engineering is coming to an end, completing 99% of roadbed construction, 97% of bridge construction, and 97% of tunnel construction.

As Chongqing’s first highway connecting Shaanxi, the Wuxi-Zhenping highway will reduce the three and a half hours' travel to less than one hour. (Translated by Yuki, Fathom Language Limited)
