CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport recently reported a good momentum of growth in the volume of passenger traffic, which has recovered to the level of the same period in 2019.

For the past week, 6039 flight trips have been safely operated at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, up 185.53% from the same period in 2022 and 101.63% from the same period in 2019. At the same time, the airport has made a total of 867,400 Chinese and foreign passenger trips, which represents an increase of 306.07% over the same period in 2022 and 104.05% over the same period in 2019.

The largest number of flights in a single day reached 900, the highest level since February 2022; the daily passenger throughput touched 132,000, exceeding 130,000 again after the peak of the Spring Festival holiday this year.

With a rapid recovery in international (regional) passenger air routes, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport handled 104 flight trips and 12,400 inbound and outbound passengers this week, which represents an increase of 1,980% and 2,654% respectively over the same period in 2022. The airport has resumed flights to China’s Hong Kong, Bangkok, Phuket, Dubai, Madrid, Rome, China’s Macau, Singapore, Vientiane, Budapest, Ho Chi Minh City, and Seoul.
