CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Significant progress has been achieved in the construction of Chongqing East Station since the project started last May, according to the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.

So far, the Chongqing East Station project has completed 100% of the anti-floating rock bolter construction of the comprehensive transit center, 96% of the foundation for the 223-meter high-rise, 96% of the 228-meter high-rise main structure, 95% of the 223-meter high-rise structure, 94% of the 238-meter high-rise structure, 93% of the 243-meter high-rise structure, 85% of the 249-meter high-rise structure, and 65% of the 260-meter high-rise structure.

It is understood that Chongqing East Station is the largest comprehensive transportation hub under construction for the integrated four networks in Chongqing and the biggest high-speed railway station under construction in China. There will be two high-speed railway yards, one normal-speed railway yard, 15 stations, and 29 tracks in Chongqing East Station.

According to the headquarters of Chongqing East Station, Chongqing East Station is planned to be completed and used in 2025 with the Chongqing-Qianjiang section of the Chongqing-Hunan High-speed Railway. Upon its completion, it will take one hour to reach Wanzhou, Qianjiang, Chengdu, and Guiyang from Chongqing East Station, three hours to Wuhan, Kunming, and Changsha, and six hours to Shanghai and Beijing.
