From the current situation, the software industry in Chongqing sustains a general steady growth this year. The head of the Software Department of the Municipal Commission of Economy and Information stated that more than 2900 enterprises are included in daily operation monitoring in Chongqing, including over 600 major enterprises. Among them, from January to April, the software industry in Chongqing achieved software business revenue of 80.65 billion yuan, up 16.5% from last year; The buildings for storage in various districts of the downtown areas cover an area of over 500,000 square meters, with 380,000 square meters used; more than 1,500 new software companies were founded newly, with over 20,000 new employees, over 280,000 employees in total.

It is worth mentioning that since this year, seven products (or projects) cultivated in Chongqing have been selected as excellent industrial software products of the ministry of industry and information technology, excellent industrial internet APP solutions, typical application cases of block-chain, and pilot demonstration projects of network security technology application; a list of 9 companies cultivated to be listed has been sorted out and made; 169 software projects such as Hesai Technology and Neusoft Reach have been signed, and 61 projects such as Tencent Southwest Headquarters Phase II and iFlytek AI + Industrial Park have been launched, with a contract investment of over 50 billion yuan.

In addition, in February this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially licensed the National Internet Security Industrial Park (in the Chengdu-Chongqing region); 6 municipal Internet security industrial parks have been selected jointly with the Municipal Committee of Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission to continue to promote the development of the Internet security industry; more efforts have been made to promote Liangjiang Software Park and Yubei Xiantao Big Data Valley Software Park to provide better supporting services, with Chongqing Satellite Internet Industrial Park established, and four key parks built newly, including Chongqing Jinfeng Software Park and Banan Software Park.

Next, based on the decisions and arrangements made by the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, the Municipal Commission of Economy and Information will continue to expand and optimize the carrier space, strengthen the cultivation of market entities, strengthen the driving force of application scenarios, enhance the capacity of providing products and technical services, guide the specialization, differentiation, and clustering development of industries, so as to create a good industrial ecology.
