CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The eight bents of Chentuolu Overpass, part of the renovation project of the Wutaishan Overpass-Shuangshan Tunnel section (at the junction of Jiulongpo and Dadukou), successfully made a turn on May 31. It is the first time that eight piers have turned at the same time in China.

The renovation project of the Wutaishan Overpass-Shuangshan Tunnel section covers a total length of about 2.94 kilometers. Now around 60% of the project has been completed. Parts of the overpass and some relief roads have been put into use.

The total length of the Chentuolu Overpass is about 777 meters. To ensure the steady progress of the project and avoid negative impacts on traffic, the project department decided to take the superstructure rotation method to construct the 11 bents in the narrowest section of the road.

It is estimated that the entire renovation project will be completed by the end of next year. Upon its completion, it will take 10 minutes to drive from Jiangbei to Dadukou via Hongyancun Tunnel. (Photographed by Xia Yuan and Luo Bin / Visual Chongqing)
