CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing Rail Transit (CRT) Shapingba Station has completed the construction of its passage to CRT Line 27 and started the construction of its main structure. It will become the first CRT station in Chongqing to accommodate four lines, namely Line 1, Line 9, Loop Line, and Line 27.

The Shapingba Station of Line 27 is located under Three Gorges Square, with a total length of 225 meters. Since the construction route of the station crosses many buildings and three existing rail lines, the construction environment is extremely complex, and the workers face lots of problems like limited construction at night, difficult construction in the control and protection area, and a high standard of mechanical excavation technology.

The project department of China Railway No. 8 Engineering Group, the constructor, makes full use of the visualization and simulation features of "BIM" technology and displays the flat drawings in the 3D format to enhance construction efficiency and accuracy.

At the same time, the project department continuously optimizes the construction plan by adopting fully enclosed shed construction, using cantilever tunneling machines, and adjusting the operation time. As all works are progressing in an orderly manner, Shapingba Station has completed the construction of its passage to CRT Line 27 and started the construction of its main structure.
