CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- A type of lotus known as the Cloud Flag in Space has bloomed recently at the lotus breeding base in Dazu District, Chongqing.

The Cloud Flag in Space, a variety of space lotus cultivated with space breeding technology, features pistil that becomes metamorphosed into petals. Different from ordinary lotus roots that generate economic benefits, the Cloud Flag in Space does not produce lotus seeds. However, with dense petals, flowers growing higher than the leaves, and a bloom period of 120 days, the Cloud Flag in Space is a rare ornamental plant.
