The Zhengzhou-Chongqing high-speed railway celebrates its first anniversary of operation, with 19 million passenger trips made via the Chongqing section

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The Zhengzhou-Chongqing high-speed railway celebrated its first anniversary of operation on June 20. As of June 19, 19 million passenger trips have been made via the Chongqing section of the Zhengzhou-Chongqing high-speed railway, according to China Railway Chengdu Group.
Yunyang, Fengjie, and Wushan Stations of the Zhengzhou-Chongqing high-speed railway have dealt with 3.2 million passengers for the year. The highest daily passenger count exceeded 23,000 trips.

The train C6408 departed Chongqing North Station at 9:34 on June 19. Dance performances and a prize competition carried out by Fengjie Culture and Tourism Commission in the No.6 carriage have attracted numerous passengers to take photos.

"We dealt with 615 passengers today. As the Dragon Boat Festival approaches, the Zhengzhou-Chongqing high-speed railway will witness the travel peak. Those passengers with children should take extra security precautions.” In the event of a large passenger flow, the relevant personnel will carry out “Pay on Board”, food ordering, lost and found services, and offer special services to a key population group. Besides, emergency medicine boxes and other supplies will be available to respond to emergencies, improve service quality, and ensure convenient travel for passengers.


The Zhengzhou-Chongqing high-speed railway starts from Henan’s Zhengzhou, passes through Hubei, and ends in Chongqing in the south, with a total length of 1,068 kilometers. As a significant part of the main channels of the high-speed railway network (eight vertical and eight horizontal high-speed railways) in China, the Zhengzhou-Chongqing high-speed railway is the main passenger high-speed channel for travelers to reach North China, East China, and Central China quickly from Chongqing.
