Pride of Chongqing premieres in Chongqing

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The four documentaries of Pride of Chongqing premiered in Chongqing Raffles City, telling us how the protagonists in the documentaries have challenged themselves and renewed the pride of Chongqing with striking scenes and moving stories. In the documentaries, we can see a parkour champion from Chongqing, a foreign actor who can speak in Chongqing dialect fluently, a female rider who rushed to the rescue of a mountain fire, and a local music producer...

The documentaries extend a salute to the pride of Chongqing and present the stories of Chongqing’s pride from a unique perspective. The protagonists of the documentaries: Gao Jiawen who has won eight parkour champions in a row in China, Wu Piaohui, the “Bow Lady” who rode to the rescue of a mountain fire in Chongqing, the Moldovan actress Xiaoxiao, and the local music and record producer Huang Nian, shared the proud moments of their lives at the premiere.

Though the four protagonists have got different jobs, they are all proud of the great changes taking place in Chongqing. They are growing here more confidently.

Gao Jiawen, born in Chongqing in 1996, started a journey of parkour at the age of 14 because of a vaunt. He has become a professional parkourer and won eight parkour championships in a row in China.

My greatest pride is that I have chosen a path I like, kept challenging myself, and created a path on my own, said Gao Jiawen. Looking back on his parkour experience, Gao Jiawen said that when he was first invited to Germany to participate in the competition, he didn’t think he would have won an award. When his read was read, he was in a state of excitement. “All the efforts I have made are worthwhile, and I feel like winning glory for my motherland and my hometown Chongqing,” said Gao Jiawen.

When telling the stories of Gao Jiawen, the documentary displays the magnificent cross-river bridges, the running trains, and the good-looking viewing platforms in Chongqing. In his journey of parkour in Chongqing, Gao witnesses the rapid development of Chongqing. “We can see the great changes in Chongqing from this documentary. I’m proud to be a Chongqing people.”

A tower-running race with the theme of “Pride in Every Step” took place in Chongqing Raffles City on the same day. The participants ran from Shancheng Garden, going all the way up to the 47-story building at a height of 250 meters. They have crossed 1,099 steps, each carrying a quotation to encourage the participants to meet at the top.

The tower-running race attracted more than 500 contestants from all over the country, including Zhang Xianghai, the first person to climb Mount Qomolangma in Chongqing, and Wen Shunyao, a professional parkour coach.
