CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The first batch of imported corn was transferred at Xintian Port in Wanzhou District on June 20, which marked the official operation of the first rail-road-water multimodal transport hub port in the Three Gorges Reservoir area.

This batch of corn is imported from the United States. After being inspected by the Department of Inspection and Quarantine at Nanjing Customs, the goods passed through the Yangtze River Golden Waterway and arrived at Xintian Port. They were uploaded at Xintian Port and then distributed to Dazhou via the Dazhou-Wanzhou railway. Finally, the goods were delivered to customers by road transport.

It is known that Wanzhou Xintian Port is one of the three strategic hub ports in Chongqing, and the eastward gateway of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle. The port and its industrial parks plan to build 19 berths of 5,000 tons, with a cargo handling capacity of 40 million tons per year. The project will be finished in three phases with a total investment of about 8 billion RMB.
