CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The finals of the third Chongqing Dragon Boat Open started on the Fuijiang River in Hechuan District, where 14 professional dragon boat teams from Sichuan and other districts of Chongqing and eight local dragon boat teams in Hechuan presented a wonderful and fierce dragon boat race.

The warm glow of the summer settled on the banks of the Fujiang River. A large number of people who are fond of dragon boat races gathered on the banks of the river early in the morning. They came to learn about the rules of the dragon boat race or boost the morale of the competitors. Because Hechuan is the place where the Fujiang River, the Qujiang River, and the Jialing River met, the dragon boat race has become a popular folk custom activity in Hechuan District and other towns along the rivers. Hechuan District has a wide-spreading mass and experienced competitors for dragon boat races.

There are 14 professional dragon boat teams from Sichuan and other districts of Chongqing and eight local dragon boat teams in Hechuan presented a wonderful and fierce dragon boat race, totaling around 500 participants, will compete in two groups in the 200-meter and 500-meter races for 22-person dragon boats (open group), and 200-meter and 500-meter straight races for 12-person dragon boats (public group).

In addition to the exciting dragon boat race, traditional folklore activities for the Dragon Boat Festival, such as dragon boat tours, dragon-boat songs, dragon boat painting, flag capturing, and duck chasing, were also carried out in Hechuan District.
