CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- With the development of the “Two Rivers and Four Riversides” Improvement Project, Chongqing has built an increasing number of leisure facilities for residents. According to the Chongqing Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Committee, 95% of the Dishuiyan – Ciqikou section of Shabin Road, Phase I of the Jialing River banks project (part of the “Two Rivers and Four Riversides” Improvement Project), has been completed and is now going to finish the trail construction. It is scheduled to be put into operation by the end of this month.

Located on the south bank of the Jialing River, the project starts from Hongyancun Bridge in the east and ends at Guofu Shaci Lane in the west, with a total shoreline of 5.3 kilometers and a total area of about 81.39 hectares.

The Dishuiyan – Ciqikou section of Shabin Road plays a significant role in diversifying leisure activities along the river and improving the ecological quality of the shoreline. The project aims to improve the ecological environment of the shoreline through natural ecosystem restoration, classified management, and riverside bank protection. Specifically, it will improve the water-dissipation zone of 500,000 square meters, build pedestrian trails and 6.5-km cycling trails, and create public leisure spaces with a total area of 90,000 square meters, including Yangjiaobao, and Zhongdukou Pier.
