CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The Airbus A321, carrying a delegation of 24 Chongqing enterprises led by the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, landed at Astana International Airport at around 4:00 a.m. Beijing time on June 25, beginning their journey to expand global markets.

It took around 15 hours for the delegation to arrive at their first stop of the journey, Astana, from Chongqing. After a short break, they started their trips of intensive investigation.

In the afternoon, some members of the delegation went to an Astana auto parts market to learn more about the local market condition. 

The delegation went to the famous auto parts shopping center QAMQOR CITY, the largest local auto self-service center Mycar Kuldzhinka, and the used cars markets, meeting with some managers and dealers. The delegation introduced the auto production and foreign trade of Chongqing to them and welcome them to China and Chongqing to build partnerships.

Why did the delegation visit auto markets first? Xu Xincheng, the deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, answered that the destination was determined considering the preliminary demand of Chongqing enterprises and the goal of Chongqing to build a trillion-dollar industry of intelligent connected new-energy vehicles.

With the sustained development of optimized intelligent electric vehicles, a batch of medium and high-end new-energy autos made by Chongqing have arrived on the market, promoting Chongqing's automobile industry toward the medium and high-end value chain.

Chongqing produced 2.092 million autos in China, ranking fourth in China in 2022. In the first quarter of this year, the number of autos produced by Chongqing reached 492,000 units, making Chongqing the second auto manufacturer in China in terms of productivity.

With the accelerated development of the industry of intelligent connected new-energy vehicles in Chongqing, more and more vehicles made by Chongqing are capturing global markets rapidly. Chongqing’s auto exports increased by nearly 90% on a yearly basis in 2022.

China's auto industry has been actively expanding the Kazakhstan market over recent years. Its auto export volume to Kazakhstan increased by nine times to 12,500 units in 2022, making it a major supplier of vehicles to the country.

The export volume of heavy truck manufacturers like Chongqing Hongyan and Qingling Motors reached 38.69 million yuan last year, and passenger car manufacturers like Changan Auto are aggressively developing their global markets.

As the largest car market in Central Asia, Kazakhstan's strong demand for vehicles offers lots of opportunities for cooperation between Chongqing and Kazakhstan in the auto field.
