Xu Xincheng, Deputy Director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, introduced the development of the manufacturing industry in Chongqing to the chamber. With the increasing cooperation and exchanges between Chongqing and Kazakhstan in recent years, the two sides have strong complementarity with each other in the fields concerning autos, medical devices, and e-commerce and other fields, presenting broad prospects for cooperation, said Xu. Thanks to major logistic channels like China Railway Express (Yuxinou), the import and export volume between Chongqing and Kazakhstan reached 2.56 billion yuan in 2022, up 12.3% from last year, among which the export volume was 860 million yuan, up 77.8% from last year.

In the meeting, Yu Jianfei, Director of Jiulongpo Commission of Commerce, gave a detailed introduction to the development of automobiles and motorcycles, new-energy vehicles, aluminum and general machinery, and other advantageous industries, as well as their investment intentions.

President Bessen also introduced the basic functions and business scope of the charmer. He said that the chamber would take advantage of the good partnership between enterprises and the government to create favorable conditions for the business development of both sides. He suggested that both sides should take practical measures to deepen economic and trade cooperation, continue to strengthen cooperation in the fields concerning production and processing, green technology, smart agriculture, logistics, and transportation, and expand bilateral trade.

Kazakhstan is expected to generate more than 80 percent of its electricity from clean, alternative energy sources by 2060, said President Bessen. Kazakhstan, like China, is making an effort to realize carbon neutrality by 2060. At present, Kazakhstan is seeking ways of energy transformation and upgrading, and there is a huge demand for green technology. "Recently, the government is preparing to purchase more than 600 small new-energy trucks, and we would like to further detail the cooperation with the Chongqing business delegation in this matter," said President Bessen.

In addition, with the population growth in recent years, the demand for health care in Kazakhstan has increased rapidly. After learning more about Chongqing FORWOS MEDICAL from the delegation, President Bessen said that Kazakhstan was planning to establish 1,000 small regional medical centers, and there was great potential for cooperation with Chongqing in the medical field. They are willing to strengthen communication with Chongqing enterprises in investment access, registration, and other aspects.

In the afternoon, the delegation also visited the Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Kazakhstan. Chongqing, as a significantly advanced manufacturing center in China, has obvious complementary advantages in cooperation with Kazakhstan and cooperation potential in various fields such as new energy, logistics, and tourism, said Minister Su Yu.
