CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On June 29, with the final excavation and blasting of the Jinyunshan Tunnel, the last tunnel of the Sichuan-Chongqing section of the Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway was successfully holed through, marking the completion of the Sichuan-Chongqing section of the Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway, and laying a solid foundation for the early opening traffic of the line.

Jinyunshan Tunnel of Chongqing-Kunming High speed Railway,  located in Jiangjin District and Bishan District of Chongqing, 3,453m long in total, was designed by China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co., Ltd. and constructed by China Railway 11th Bureau. The tunnel passes through Jinyun Mountain, with complex geological conditions, great difficulty in construction and high safety risks.

The Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway is an important component of the Beijing-Kunming Corridor, one of the main channels of China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway. After the line is completed and put into service, it will further improve the comprehensive national transport network, strengthen the connection between the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle and the central Yunnan region, greatly better the travel conditions for the people living along the line, and promote high-quality economic and social development along the line.
