CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The ASEAN-Chongqing’s Jiangjin-Europe international intermodal train, carrying a large number of goods from Vietnam, Sichuan, and Chongqing, departed Xiaonanya Railway Logistics Center in the Jiangjin Luohuang Lingang Industrial Area at 11:00 a.m. on July 7, bound for Europe along the New Silk Road.
The train was loaded with 55 containers, which contain imported electronic parts shipped by the Sino-Vietnamese freight train, chemical products transported by Chengdu-Chongqing water shuttle bus from Sichuan’s Yibin, and complete vehicles produced in Chongqing. The total value of goods reached about 16 million yuan.
The operation of this freight train marks the connection between the new western land-sea corridor, China Railway Express, and the Yangtze River Golden Waterway in Jiangjin, and facilitates international cargo flows between Europe and all Southeast Asian countries.
In recent years, centering on the Belt and Road Initiative, Luohuang Lingang Industrial Area has opened several domestic and foreign freight train lines, such as China Railway Express, the China-Laos railway international freight train, the China-Laos-Thailand international intermodal train, the China-Myanmar cross-border railway-road intermodal train, the China-Vietnam train and the freight trains for the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, and initially formed a global network connecting the northwest, southwest, and ASEAN countries.
