New collection in Chongqing Sports Museum!

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing Sports Museum hosted a donation activity in Shapingba on July 3. The new collection includes the plaque of the Youth Amateur Gliding School of Chongqing No.7 High School, an early model of a gliding plane, and the first sports film “Long Biao” in Chongqing, all of which showcase the 80-year history of sports development in Chongqing.

Chongqing No.7 High School donated an early model of a gliding plane, relevant academic affairs documents, and plaques. With a view to building a gliding school in Chongqing No.7 High School, Chongqing Amateur Gliding School invested 9399 yuan in building a 120 square-meter cafeteria and kitchen and renovating the classrooms and dormitories for the gliding school in 1961.

The Chongqing Youth Amateur Gliding School was run for two years and recruited two groups of students. The operating information of the school was recorded in the academic affairs documents donated by Chongqing No.7 High School. The school contributed to the development of the air force in China, and most of its students studied in the air force preparatory school and became excellent pilots.

Chongqing University donated a series of precious academic affairs documents, which include the competition rules of the 1960 Chongqing University Spring Games. According to handwritten records, five teams of Chongqing University won a third place, a fourth place, and two sixth place in the first-class provincial team competition, and ten· teams reached the municipal level in 1959.

Moreover, Chongqing No.1 Secondary School donated the national advanced team medal for mass sports won in 1997; Chongqing Nankai Middle School donated a series of old photos of the founder Zhang Boling and the championship trophy won in 2018 by two female basketball players from Chongqing Nankai Middle School representing the Chinese women's national team in the u18 women's three-person basketball tournament held by FIBA in Malaysia; Shapingba Sports Administration donated a lengthy report “The Light of Shapingba Sports"; Shapingba Football Association donated the first sports film in Chongqing, "Long Biao" I am not a Genius to Chongqing Sports Museum, which will be on this October.
