CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The 2023 Economic and Trade Activities of Hong Kong-invested enterprises started in Chongqing on July 4. The reporter learned from the symposium held on the same day that Chongqing's total import and export trade with Hong Kong reached 21.379 billion yuan between January and May. In addition, the same period witnessed an investment of US$174.51 million (60% of which were capital for transactions and goods) in the industries concerning residential services, repairing, wholesale and retail trade, and leasing and business services in China’s Hong Kong by seven enterprises in Chongqing. 

Zhong Yongxi, the chief representative of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council in the Chinese mainland, said at the meeting that in the first half of the year, the first meeting of the Chongqing and Hong Kong Cooperation Conference was held in Chongqing, which shortened the distance between Chongqing and Hong Kong. This activity aims to offer Hong Kong insight into the development opportunities in Chongqing and speed up cooperation between the two regions.

16 representatives of Hong Kong enterprises from different industries such as manufacturing, commercial real estate, trade and commerce, port logistics, artificial intelligence, finance, architectural design, cultural and creative design, and professional services, communicated with representatives of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce and the authorities of other districts and counties at the event.

According to the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, this three-day activity was organized by the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce and Hong Kong Trade Development Council. During the event, the Hong Kong delegation will visit the Planning Exhibition Gallery of Chongqing, Chongqing International Logistics Hub Park, and Deloitte. Moreover, a forum under the theme of “A New Chapter in Hong Kong, New Opportunities in Chongqing” and meetings for Hong Kong enterprises in Chongqing will be held to allow Hong Kong businessmen to have a better understanding of new Chongqing and new opportunities.
