CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- July marks the beginning of the summer holiday. As more and more parents are planning family trips, summer tours are increasingly popular.

According to the travel report released by LY.COM, Ctrip, and other well-known domestic online travel service platforms, the peak summer season arrived significantly earlier than in the previous years and the popularity of summer tours exceeded the same period in 2019.

Data from Ctrip show that the orders for summer travel in Chongqing have doubled compared with 2019. According to the 2023 Summer Travel Foresight Report by LY.COM, Chongqing and Chengdu are among the top cities with high passenger traffic.

The peak summer season arrives one week earlier

“We may play on the beach and enjoy the sea breeze in the summer holiday. She had booked tickets for her daughter’s trip before the final exams.

Mr. Li, a resident living in Lianglu, Yubei, had enrolled in a study tour to Hong Kong for his son before the summer holiday. My son is looking forward to visiting the University of Hong Kong, said Li.

The peak summer season has begun, according to the 2023 Summer Travel Foresight Report released by LY.COM. Both study tours and family tours exceeded the level of the same period in 2019, and students accounted for more than 30% of the total travelers this summer vacation.

Specifically, three periods will see peak summer transportation: around July 2 (when the holiday for primary and secondary school students begins), from late July to mid-August, and around September 3 (one week before the new semester starts). The recovery of study tours and family tours is one of the key highlights of summer travel this year. At present, the first round of peak summer vacation has arrived, about one week earlier than in previous years.

Chengdu and Chongqing are popular destinations for summer vacation

Quite a few parents planned to visit Chongqing with their children. According to the data released by LY.COM and Ctrip, Chongqing and Chengdu are among the top cities with high passenger traffic.

Data from Ctrip show that as of June 29, Chongqing's overall orders for summer tours increased 109% year-on-year. The Top 10 popular destinations this summer include Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Urumqi, Chongqing, Qingdao, Hangzhou, and Nanjing. Chongqing, Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Urumqi, and Sanya are also among the top 10 in terms of popular destinations for family tours.

It is worth noting that the popular Village Super League in Guizhou may have a positive impact on summer travel. At present, a variety of "Village Super League" theme products have been launched online, including the highly rated two-day & one-night group trip to Rongjiang and Dali Dong Village.
