State Grid Chongqing implements three projects to help Chongqing guarantee power supply in summer
CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- According to State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company (State Power Chongqing), the company has started three key electricity projects to achieve an electricity generation capacity of 300,000 kilowatts in early August 2023 and guarantee power supply in Chongqing.
The three key projects include the new energy storage power plant project of Chongqing Hechuan Power Generation, the BYD optical storage project of Chongqing Bishan Integrated Intelligent Zero-carbon Power Plant, and the Wangbian project of Changshou Integrated Intelligent Zero-carbon Power Plant.
The peak independent energy storage capacity of Hechuan is 240,000 kW. Upon completion, Hechuan will become the largest grid-side energy storage project in Chongqing and even in the western region, which will strongly support the power supply during the peaks in energy demand in Chongqing. It’s said that the project has adopted the high safety standards in the industry and features a liquid cooling system, PACK-level firefighting, and a big-data-based warning system. It aims to create a high-quality energy storage project.
With an energy storage capacity of 70,000 kW (including 10,000 kilowatts of photovoltaic), the Bishan BYD project will become the largest energy storage project for users in Chongqing and even in the western region. The project incorporates photovoltaic, energy storage, production line energy recovery, and the intelligent control platform. The energy recovery rate of the energy recovery system applied in the production process of battery cells has increased to 90%, much higher than the industry average level. The energy recovery system is expected to be applied in the production process of all types of battery cells.
With a peak energy storage capacity of 0.6 million kW, the Changshou Wangbian project is a comprehensive smart zero-carbon power plant project integrating wind power, photovoltaic, and energy storage. With the development and smart industrial parks, the project realizes the functions concerning data, environmental protection, security, underground pipe network monitoring, flood disaster warning, regional noise monitoring, and emergency alarm. Meanwhile, the three-dimensional UAV solves the problems of poor accessibility of distributed photovoltaic power stations and improves the efficiency of operation and inspection.
For State Grid Chongqing, these three projects can enhance the flexibility and regulation capacity of the power grid, smooth load fluctuations, supplement the peak gap, and ensure the safe and stable operation of the regional power grid. For commercial and industrial users, these projects can reduce energy costs, improve electrical safety and the proportion of green electricity, and achieve intelligent control.
