CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On July 10, the Information Office of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government held a press conference and released the 2022 Chongqing Internet Development Report (the Report). The Report shows that Chongqing adhered to the systematic reform led by digital reform, vigorously promoted the development of digital Chongqing, and achieved fruitful results in Internet infrastructure, industrial development, ecological governance, and service capacity last year. According to the Digital China Development Report (2022) issued by the Cyberspace Administration of China, Chongqing ranks ninth among 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) in terms of comprehensive digital development.

The Report presents 10 highlights of the development of the Internet and digital economy over the past year in Chongqing, which include the accelerated upgrading of digital infrastructures, orderly promotion of the sharing and utilization of data resources, continuous enhancement of the energy level for digital economic development, diversification of digital society application scenarios, significant improvement in the efficiency of digital government services, accelerated innovation and breakthroughs in information technology, gradual improvement in the system for comprehensive network governance, steady improvement in the capacity for network security protection, the continuously deepening exchanges and cooperation in the field of Internet, and the enhancement of digital literacy and skills of the whole people.

According to the heads of several municipal departments, including the Chongqing Municipal Cyberspace Affairs Office and the Chongqing Municipal Economic and Information Technology Commission at the press conference, they are accelerating innovation in Internet technology and integrating it into the economic and social development of Chongqing, and Internet technology has profoundly changed our production mode, lifestyle, and social governance mode. This year, Chongqing will continue to actively seize the opportunities of digital transformation and strive to achieve more significant breakthroughs and landmark results to make the Internet the largest increment in the development of a modern new Chongqing.
