CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The opening ceremony of the 2023 summer internship program for college students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan was held on July 11. Guangdong Science Hall is the main venue for the activity, and Chongqing Science and Technology Museum is the sub-venue. 13 college students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, who study in Chongqing, will visit enterprises, institutions, and research institutes in Chongqing and go on a field trip in the following five weeks. The program will offer them opportunities to enhance their qualities and gain exposure to the economic and social development of Chongqing.

This program is sponsored by China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Youth Science and Technology Center of China Association for Science and Technology, Chongqing Association for Science and Technology, Chongqing Municipal Education Commission, Chongqing University, Southwest University, and Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications.

The internship lasts for five weeks and is implemented by the "1+3" mode, that is, "internship + study, visit, and exchange". The students will visit state key laboratories, Chongqing Science and Technology Industry Demonstration Area, Chongqing urban culture, and Chongqing rural revitalization demonstration area in Chongqing High-tech Zone, Liangjiang New Area, and Beibei District for study and exchanges on the weekend. They will communicate with scientific research experts and scholars or enterprise leaders, or local young students.

This summer internship program will help college students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan improve their overall qualities in the place of internship and offer them an insight into the economic and social development of Chongqing.

The 2023 summer internship program for college students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan will be piloted in 13 provinces and municipalities, including Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Chongqing, and Sichuan, offering more than 1,300 internship jobs for nearly 500 college students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan studying in 53 universities in Chongqing.
