CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- When the steel structure grid is covered with the metal roof "coat", the appearance of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport T3B terminal gradually appears. It’s learned that, T3B terminal metal roof construction is expected to achieve water-break by the end of September this year to create conditions for interior decoration and equipment installation.

Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport T3B Terminal is a single satellite hall with the largest construction area of the world. The construction area is about 360,000 square meters. It is composed of the main building and four airside concourse, of which the main building is divided into four floors above the ground and two floors underground.

The workers placed the various materials on the roof of the T3B terminal.

Seeing through the passage to the top of the T3B terminal, workers were tied to the safety rope and busy working on the steel structure grid.

"What they're doing is metal roofing," said Chen Bolin, Chief Engineer of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport T3B Terminal Project of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp., ltd. He said that if the steel structure construction has built the skeleton for the T3B Terminal, the metal roof is to give it a “coat”.

This "coat" is not simple. It has more than ten layers from the surface to the core, including waterproof, fireproof, thermal insulation, etc. Take the waterproof layer as an example. Its function is achieved not only through the aluminum-magnesium-manganese plate and the TPO coiled material toy play a double-layer waterproof role. Additionally, the builder also designed about 42 centimeters of space between the aluminum-magnesium-manganese plate and the TPO coiled material, to isolate the internal and external temperature difference and noise, making the “coat” of the T3B terminal more environmentally friendly and energy-saving.

At the extreme end of one of the airside concourse of the T3B terminal, workers are working on the lower edge of the roof.

Chen Bolin said that at present, 70 percent of the T3B terminal's metal roofing project has been completed, and more than 400 workers are working hard at the front line to fully promote the construction. It is expected that the metal roofing project will achieve water-break by the end of September this year, creating conditions for interior decoration and equipment installation.
