CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- At 1:56 on July 28, the two T-shaped continuous beam swivel bridges in the elevated section between Liujiaping station and Baileyuan Station of CRT Line 6 east extension were slowly turning. After 52 minutes of swivel construction, precise docking was achieved, marking the smooth rotation of the first continuous beam in the elevated section of the Line 6 east extension.

It is understood that during the construction, Line 6 east extension needs to cross the present Line 6 and form a diagonal intersection with it.

In order to minimize the impact on the lines in operation and ensure the safety in construction, Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group Co, Ltd. and the construction unit Sinohydro Bureau 5 Co., Ltd., by carefully and scientifically planning, decided to apply the bridge swivel process to construction, that is, after completing the pouring of T-shaped continuous beams on both sides of Line 6, to rotate them counterclockwise with the pier as the axis, then to dock the two beams across the existing Line 6, thereby shortening the construction period and ensuring the safety in construction.

There are 52 beams in total between Liujiaping station and Baileyuan Station. During this rotation, with Z2 # and Z3 # main piers as the axes, the hydraulic traction system was applied to drive two 100 meter-long and 3500 ton concrete continuous beams to rotate simultaneously at a constant speed, with the maximum turning angle of 19 degrees.

The Line 6 east extension is located in Chayuan Cluster, Nan'an District, starting from Chongqingdong Railway Station and ending at the present Liujiaping Station. After this line is put into operation, it will be connected to Chongqingdong Railway Station, which will improve the capacity of Chongqingdong Railway Station to support the rail transit of external transportation hubs, and serve as the most convenient, efficient and important channel between the central urban area and Chongqingdong Railway Station. At the same time, it is of great significance to make the travel of citizens living nearby more convenient and promote the high-quality development of Chayuan clusters.
