CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The first Chongqing Hemei “CunBA” Finals kicked off at Heishan Mass Culture and Sports Activity Center in Wansheng Economic Development Zone on the evening of July 31. Eight teams will compete for the championship during the four-day event, and the winner and runner-up teams will participate in the southwest regional finals on behalf of Chongqing.

With the theme of “CunBA, a carnival for us”, the final will bring us spectacular matches and an enormous basketball carnival, according to the Chongqing Municipal Agriculture and Rural Commission.

The eight teams from different districts and counties were drawn into two groups. Group A included Pengshui Hongshu Team, Qijiang Shanyang Team, Kaizhou Chuncheng Team, and Beibei Youjian Liuyin Team; Group B included Wansheng Heishanhong Team, Wushan Cuili Team, Wanzhou Meigui Xiangcheng Team, and Dianjiang Shanshui Mudan Team. The eight teams will participate in ten games, and the eventual winner and runner-up teams will be qualified to reach the southwest regional finals.

The hosts of the opening ceremony were villagers with a local accent and the guests were "rural celebrities” like National Model Agricultural Workers and National Advanced Individuals in Poverty Alleviation, which made the games full of rustic charm, according to the organizer of the Chongqing “CunBA” Finals.
