CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The first Chongqing Hemei Village Basketball Competition (or "CunBA") Finals started on the morning of August 1. Qijiang Shanyang Team and Kaizhou Chuncheng Team of Group A and Wansheng Heishanhong Team and Dianjiang Shanshui Mudan Team of Group B have been the top four to go through to the semi-final.
The inaugural race between Qijiang Shanyang Team and Pengshui Hongshu Team started at 9:30 on the morning of August 1. The two teams kept refreshing the score on the scoreboard.
“He hit a three-pointer!” Qijiang Shanyang Team took one minute to score the first goal, winning applause and screening from the audience. Pengshui Hongshu Team quickly adjusted its tactics, maintaining the competition at draws (10-10). Pengshui Hongshu led 23-18 in the first round of the competition.
In the following three rounds, Qijiang Shanyang Team caught up with Pengshui Hongshu Team and carried their strong momentum to the end of the game. It won the game 79-75 and reached the semi-final.
A shooting contest was held on the court at halftime, and the villagers came to take the challenge. Those who scored the goal could receive local agricultural products like Jinqiao tomatoes as gifts. Besides, Miao villagers in Wansheng Economic Development Zone offered a bamboo dance performance to enliven the atmosphere.
On the same day, the other six teams contested to reach the semi-final. Kaizhou Chuncheng Team beat Beibei Youjian Liuyin Team 68-58; Wushan Cuili Team lost to Wansheng Heishanhong Team 59-97; Dianjiang Shanshui Mudan won over Wanzhou Meigui Xiangcheng Team 85-76, securing the last place in the semi-final.
The final four teams, Qijiang Shanyang Team and Kaizhou Chuncheng Team of Group A, and Wansheng Heishanhong Team and Dianjiang Shanshui Mudan Team of Group B will contest in two competitions on August 2.
