CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Guo Hanyu and Jiang Xinyu rattled off a 2-0 win over the team from South Korea in the second round of the women's doubles tennis competition and reached the last eight on July 1.
Guo Hanyu is a graduate student at the School of Sports of Southwest University, and Jiang Xinyu is a student at Chengdu Sport University.

Back in the 2019 Naples Universiade, Guo Hanyu and her partner Ye Qiuyu won the women's doubles tennis match, becoming the first Chinese team to win a gold medal in women's doubles tennis in the Universiade after Li Na and Li Ting won the championship at the 2001 Beijing Universiade. Guo Hanyu also won the women's team gold medal in 2019.

"Although we are studying in Chongqing and Chengdu respectively, we have grown up and received training together since we were young so we are very familiar with each other," said Guo Hanyu. She was quite satisfied with the women's doubles tennis competition that just ended, and she believed that she could have done better. She gave herself a 6 out of 10 for her performance.
“We got a little distracted because the audience was enormously enthusiastic. We’ve made self-adjustment and will be more focused in the following competitions,” said Jiang Xinyu.

After the women’s doubles match, Guo Hanyu continued to receive training, as she will play against a seeded player from Thailand. I will try my best to prepare for the game. “I will watch videos to analyze the tactics and focus on every point of the match," said Guo. (Translated by Yuki, Fathom Language Limited)
