6.965 million passengers in total sent from the railway stations in Chongqing when the summer holiday travel rush season is half over

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The reporter learned from China Railway Chengdu Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Chengdu Bureau") that, after half of the summer holiday travel rush season, the Chongqing railway stations have sent 6.965 million passengers, 225,000 passengers per day, a new high over the same period.

From July 1 to July 31, the passenger flow during this summer holiday travel rush season of Chengdu Bureau remained at a high level. Since the beginning of this summer holiday travel rush season, Chengdu Bureau has sent a total of 40.318 million passengers, an increase of 15.371 million compared to that in 2022, up over 60%, and an increase of 7.831 million compared to that in 2019, up over 20%, a record high over the same period.

Influenced by the FISU World University Games, Guizhou village super league, summer tourism, the Yi Torch Festival and other factors, the passenger flow continued to be huge this summer, and the passenger flow peak occurred frequently at the major stations in Chengdu, Chongqing and Guiyang.

In order to meet the continuous growing demands arising from huge passenger flow, Chengdu Bureau, based on the Big data of ticket pre-sale, accurately implemented the "one map for one day", arranged the delivery of transport capacity in echelons, to achieve the accurate matching of transport capacity and demands, increased the transport capacity in the direction of peak passenger flow by adding trains and re-connection, and continuously increased the delivery of transport capacity. Each station made arrangements in advance to ensure smooth travel of passengers.

Data shows that since the beginning of this summer holiday travel rush season, Chengdu Bureau has run an average of 1,606 trains per day, an increase of 80 trains or 9.9% compared to that in 2022, and an increase of 195 trains or 24.3% compared to that in 2019. Trains mainly depart from Chengdu, Chongqing, Guiyang and other places to popular areas such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xi'an, and Kunming.
