CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The construction of Chongqingdong Railway Station, which is located in the Chayuan area, Nan’an, Chongqing, is accelerated. Recently, the reporter learned from China Railway No. 8 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. that the Southwest Building, the main body of the first building of the Chongqingdong Railway Station project, has been successfully capped and new progress has been made in construction. The entire project is expected to be completed by 2025.

The Chongqingdong Railway Station project includes railway yards and related works, station buildings and supporting comprehensive transportation hub works, and supporting municipal roads. China Railway No. 8 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. undertook the construction of four supporting housing works, including the southeast building, northeast building, southwest building and northwest building of Chongqingdong Railway Station, with a total construction area of about 290,000 square meters, as well as works such as some running tunnels and bridges of rail transit Line 8 and Line 24.

The Southwest building that has been capped covers a construction area of 92,159 square meters, with 3 underground floors and 9 overground floors. Faced with tight deadlines, heavy construction tasks, and multiple cross-operations, the project department has made overall plans and coordinated, taken control of key links, to optimize resource allocation, and refine construction organization. At the same time, the department also strove to make technological breakthrough and applied intelligent tower crane visualization systems to ensure the safety of aerial work.

"In the hot summer, we also use automatic sprinkler system, sprinkler, electric fan and other tools to cool the construction site," said the relevant person in charge of the Chongqingdong Railway Station Project Department of China Railway No. 8 Engineering Group Co., Ltd., adding that the construction of the remaining three supporting housing projects is also accelerated, and it is expected that the main structure will be fully capped in October this year.

It is understood that after the completion of Chongqingdong Railway Station, it will be of great significance to improve Chongqing's high-speed railway network, in the shape of British "Union Jack" and promote the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle and new western land-sea corridor.
