In order to ensure the normal supply of electricity, the State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company has increased its efforts in the operation and maintenance of key power lines and equipment, and make every effort to prepare for peak demand for electricity during this summer, so as to ensure that residents will have a cool summer vacation.

Yin Shengbin, the leader of the live working team of the Transmission and Inspection Center of State Grid Chongqing South Power Supply Company, was leading the team members to carry out live working near Lihua Avenue in Chayuan, Nan’an, Chongqing.

Live working is an operating method for maintenance and testing without power outage on high-voltage electrical equipment, which will not affect the lives of residents and the production of enterprises during the high temperature period in summer.

On the site, operators, wearing insulated shawls, gloves, and shoes, boarded the live working vehicle and controlled the bucket arm to rise to several meters high to carry out the operation.

“The weather in August in Chongqing is very hot and suffocating, so it is common for operators to be drenched in sweat when working continuously high above the ground.” Yin Shengbin said that since the beginning of summer this year, they have conducted more than 120 times of such live working.

It is reported that since the beginning of this June, a total of 1,415 of operations without power outage in the distribution network have been conducted in Chongqing, reducing power outages by 113,000 hours per household. State Grid Chongqing Electric Power has also set up 443 emergency repair stations across the city, equipped with 893 emergency repair vehicles, 54 power-generating cars, and a professional repair team of over 4,200 people, all on standby around the clock, fully ensuring safe and stable power supply during this summer.
