CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On the early morning of National Ecology Day (August 15), over 20 cyclists from a cyclist team in Liangping are fully equipped for an eco-friendly cycling trip by the Shuanggui Lake, their safety goggles reflecting the beautiful lakes and mountains. 

At 7:00 a.m., the cyclists set out from Guihu Xizhao passed through Liangshan Meadow, and arrived at Zhuyuan Wenying, Nanhua Dicui, or other designated destination, completing the 10-kilometer, 30-minute ride around the lake. “The surroundings of Shuanggui Lake are beautiful and the air is pretty fresh. This event not only promotes the concept of environmental protection but also enables more people to see the beauty of Liangping," said the rider Yang Dan.

The members of the eco-friendly cycling team include students, doctors, teachers, and other outdoor cycling enthusiasts. They are the practitioners of low-carbon travel, and pioneers in promoting the green development of Liangping District.

Ms. Jiang, one of the cycling team members, said that “As long as it’s sunny, I will spend 30 minutes going to work by bike. As natives of Liangping, we love our hometown and hope it will be better.” Even though it takes nearly three times longer to go to work by bike than by car, she insists on biking to work, in the hope that she and her team members will be known by more people and raise people’s awareness of low-carbon travel.
