CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The reporter recently learned from the Municipal Government Press Conference that from September 1 to 3, the 2023 Intelligent Automobiles Application Scenario Challenge and Intelligent Connected Automobile Industry Cooperation Forum will be held in Yongchuan District. Among them, the Intelligent Automobiles Application Scenario Challenge will create two “domestic first events”: the first unclosed road race in the urban area and the first race on the highway in use.

The Challenge consists of two parts: the urban function race and the highway race.

The urban function race has three groups: functional vehicle urban function race, RoboTaxi urban function race and L3/L4 automatic driving passenger car/bus function race. Special scenes such as speed bumps and construction occupying lanes will be actively set up, the non-closed road mode will be firstly adopted in China so that the competition vehicles and free traffic flow will be mixed for the purpose of comprehensively testing the participants’ comprehensive ability to deal with random and accidental events.

The highway race will be held on the first autonomous driving test highway in China, which will provide a more realistic competition environment for participants, comprehensively examine the performance, safety, efficiency and other important indicators of intelligent networked new energy vehicles, and accelerate the construction of a new digital traffic scene.

Up to now, more than 70 industry companies such as JD, CRRC, Changan and Chongqing Technology and Business University have signed up for the Challenge.

During the Challenge, the Intelligent Connected Automobile Industry Cooperation Forum will be held simultaneously in Yongchuan District. At that time, Qualcomm Venture Capital and others will release industry theme reports at the Forum; and RoboSense, DD YunTong, Leishen Intelligent, WAYTOUS and others will perform roadshows to comprehensively display the innovation, top technology products and the latest solutions of intelligent networked new energy vehicles.

In recent years, Yongchuan has made new breakthroughs in the development of the intelligent automobile industry chain, expansion of application scenarios, and improvement of urban supporting facilities, and the rapid development of intelligent automobile industry has provided favorable conditions for the success of the Challenge and the Forum.
