CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- More than 200 ice enthusiasts (27 teams) participated in a two-day floor curling event at the 12th Chongqing Public Fitness Games on September 7. It is the first time floor curling has been listed in Chongqing Public Fitness Games.

Floor curling is the more popular version of the Winter Olympics event curling. For its simple game rules and being free from seasonal and environmental effects, floor curling is suitable for the general public. It had been widely popular in Chongqing before the start of this competition, which is one of the reasons why floor curling is listed in Chongqing Public Fitness Games.

We include floor curling in Chongqing Public Fitness Games in the hope that we can promote the popularization of floor curling in Chongqing, and enable more people to know more about and participate in ice and snow sports, improve their physical fitness, and enjoy ice and snow sports, said the official of the Chongqing Administration of Sport.

By the end of 2022, more than five million people have participated in ice and snow sports in Chongqing. Chongqing offers nine skating rinks, ten ski resorts (including two indoor ski resorts), and seven roller skating hockey rinks (more than 300 square meters) to visitors all year round.
